Intercollegiate Retreat

The 2008-2009 Intercollegiate Retreat will be January 30-February 1, 2009. The retreat will be at Little Ocmulgee State Park. This year the retreat will be led by Father Tony Dittmer, the Campus Chaplain at Illinois State University. No matter where you stand in your walk with Christ, this retreat will help you see where and how you can draw intimately deeper to him. Not to mention, you'll meet new friends and have a great time.

Retrouvaille

Retreat for Women Religious

Women religious in the diocese are invited to a special retreat at Saint Peter Claver Church, 131 Ward Street, Macon, on February 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The theme will be "Gathering the fragments ... Blessed and Broken."  The retreat leader is Sister Kathryn Clauss, ihm. The retreat, including a hot lunch, is sponsored by the diocese at no cost to the sisters. Registration deadline is February 3.

AUGUSTA AREA

Roe v. Wade Memorial

The Augusta Memorial of the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision will be held at 2:00 p.m. January 17 in front of Planned Parenthood. There will be music, prayers and speakers. Bring your family and friends to stand for life and pray for an end to abortion.

Atlanta Memorial

The Alleluia Community, Augusta, will sponsor a bus to  Atlanta for the Memorial Service for the Unborn on the 36th Anniversary of the Legalization of Abortion, January 22, at the Georgia Capitol Steps in Atlanta. The bus will leave from the Alleluia School parking lot on Peach Orchard Road at Lumpkin Road at 7:00 a.m. and return late afternoon. Cost: $10 per person.

Annulment for Divorced Catholics

Father Daniel F. Firmin, Chancellor of the Diocese of Savannah, will present a talk on Annulment for Divorced Catholics  on January 26 at Saint Teresa of Avila Church, Grovetown, at 7:15 p.m., immediately following the regularly scheduled 6:30 p.m. Mass. There will be a question and answer period following the presentation. Everyone is welcome.

COLUMBUS AREA

Saint Anne Pacelli Open House

Saint Anne Pacelli Catholic School, Columbus, will hold an open house for Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 on January 15, 2009. The school will accept applications for prekindergarten through eighth grade for the 2009-2010 school year. From 9 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Grades Pre-K through 8 in will meet in Deimel Hall From 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Grades 9 through 12 will meet in the Gymnasium. Feel free to invite a friend or a neighbor to come learn about Saint Anne Pacelli.
