Faith and Fun at Scouting Camporee

A weekend Camporee held for Catholic Scouts featured many Scouting activities. Mixed in with the stations of the Cross, earning the Corporal Works of Mercy badge and Rosary making were plenty of typical Scouting activities including Climbing, Rappel, and zipline. God Is Love program is designed for use with students who are in kindergarten or first grade. The program helps students discover an appreciation that God created, cares for, and loves us all.

I Live My Faith program is multi-disciplinary and designed to promote growth in faith by teaching youth, grades 4-6, age 9-11, about the Nicene Creed, sacraments, service and prayer.

Ad Altare Dei - To the Altar of God (Ages 13-14) This program is to help Catholic Youth of the Roman rite develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community.  The program is organized in chapters based on the seven sacraments.  The seven Sacraments are a primary means toward spiritual growth.

Bronze Pelican Award Used to recognize individuals in your local dioceses for their significant contributions. This award is presented for outstanding service and significant contributions to Catholic Scouting in the Diocese of Savannah.

 

Carol J. Parsons - Columbus
St. George Award This is used to recognize individuals in our local diocese for their significant contributions and many years of support for the Catholic Youth Ministry at the local level.

 

Peter Mastopoulos –St. George Trek – Miter Award
The Miter Society was established to recognize financial supporters of the St. George Trek, the National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS)’ premier youth leadership program. The St. George Trek is held every two years at Philmont Scout Ranch.
