Father Sam Zebron OFM Conv. Dies

 Father Samuel Zebron, OFM Conv., 84, who served in the Diocese of Savannah for several years, died June 19 in Boynton Beach, Florida. 

 

In 1997 Franciscan Father Zebron was named pastor of Saint Joseph Church in Augusta. He was transferred to Holy Spirit Parish in Macon in 1999.

 

In 1969 he requested permission to become a Military Chaplain. Father Samuel served as a military chaplain in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel upon his retirement in 1991.

His military experience formed his life and he conducted himself with the high expectations of military bearing. He retired after receiving numerous medals and honors.

 

 

In recent years he had been living in retirement at Saint Mark Parish in Boynton Beach, FL.

 

 A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Mark Church, Boynton Beach, FL on June 27. Interment, at a date to be determined, will be in Arlington National Cemetery, VA.
