Bishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv., has announced the following appointments

 

Very Reverend Daniel F. Firmin, V.G. -reappointed Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia of the Diocese of Savannah for a five-year term, effective June 12, 2018. Father Firmin will continue in his appointment as Pastor of St. James the Less Parish, Savannah.

 

 

Reverend Christopher Ortega -assigned Parochial Vicar of St. Teresa Parish in Albany, effective July 1, 2018.

 

 

 

Reverend Brian O'Shaughnessy -assigned as full-time faculty member of Aquinas High School in Augusta with residence at St. Mary on the Hill Parish, effective July 1, 2018

 

 

 

Reverend Samuel Aniekwe -assigned Parochial Administrator of St. Mary Parish, Americus, effective July 1, 2018

 

 

 

Reverend Vicente Terrazas -assigned Parochial Vicar of St. Christopher Parish, Claxton, and its missions of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Sandhill, Holy Cross, Pembroke and St. Jude, Glennville, with residence in Glennville, effective July 1, 2018

 

 

Reverend Joey Buencamino  -special assignment for the Diocese of Savannah, effective August 1, 2018,

 

 

 

Reverend Andrew Larkin  -Upon priestly ordination on June 30, 2018, assigned part-time Parochial Vicar of St. Anne Parish, Richmond Hill, and part-time in the Marriage Tribunal at the Catholic Pastoral Center, effective July 1, 2018.

 

 

Reverend Christopher Hassel  -Upon priestly ordination on June 30, 2018, assigned Parochial Vicar of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Brunswick, and its mission of Nativity of Our Lady, Darien, effective July 1, 2018.

 

 

 

Saint Vincent Archabbey Benedictine Monks:

On presentation of the Right Reverend Douglas R. Nowicki, Archabbot of Saint Vincent Archabbey, Bishop Hartmayer endorsed the following appointments, effective August 1, 2018:

Reverend John Paul Heiser, O.S.B. -assigned to the faculty of Benedictine Military School and part-time Parochial Vicar of St. James Parish in Savannah
Reverend Pio Adamonis, O.S.B. -assigned to the faculty of Benedictine Military School

 

 

Franciscan Friars Conventual: Five Friars from Our Lady of the Angels Province will be assigned to priestly ministry at St. Anne Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and St. Benedict Parish in Columbus Georgia, effective August 1, 2018.

 

 

Retirement:

Very Reverend Jeremiah J. McCarthy, VF  -Currently Pastor of St. Anne Parish, Columbus, will seek medical retirement, effective August 1, 2018.

 

 

 

Reverend Richard Young  -Currently Savannah Port Ministry Chaplain, will seek medical retirement effective July 1, 2018.

 

 

 

Reverend Nicholas Mansell -Currently Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Columbus, and its mission of St. Mary Magdalen, Buena Vista, will undergo a six-month medical leave, effective August 1, 2018.

 

 

 

Missionary Servants of the Most Blessed Trinity: The Sisters of this religious order will take up ministry in the Diocese of Savannah and reside in Warner Robins. They will be involved in Evangelization and Parish Renewal, effective August 1, 2018. They are as follows:
